Government Departments -Process Modelling & Requirements Management
Casewise South Africa was part of a team responsible for the implementation of a new Casework Management System. In order to provide the right solution which will ensure Client satisfaction, the approach followed was two-fold:
Created the Business Process Model in Casewise, which consisted of the:
-
To-Be Business Process Models,
-
Associated Governance,
-
Business Rules,
-
Human Resources, and
-
Application Interfaces.
Defined the System Requirements by linking all attributes to the applicable activities in order to set the baseline of information to be captured on the new system. Each attribute was created with its own properties and linked according to a specific association (CRUD).
The To-Be Business Process Model served as baseline for the scope of the project and was used as input to the Requirements Confirmation Report (RCR).
By having all the information available within Casewise, not only did it ensure one point of entry to update user requirements, but it also gave the team the ability to automatically generate the Appendices which forms part of the RCR, from the content that was modelled in Casewise by using Communicator 4 Word.
This approach ensured that the team was able to provide the organisation with the system requirements, as set out in the RCR.
Casewise Evolve was used to enable the team to distribute the latest Business Process Model online so that all stakeholders could have visibility and collaborate around the Process Model. This gave clear access to Process Roles and Responsibilities, linked SOPs or related Governance documents. The role of Casewise was instrumental in the success of the project.
Government Departments -Organisational & Process Design
Casewise South Africa assisted the team at a Government Department to establish a practice whereby they could maintain the organisational structure in Casewise through the use of a report obtained from PERSAL. This report was used to automatically generate the organisational and functional structure of the organisation.
The Department benefited from this practice in the following ways:
-
The team could generate the organisational and functional structure automatically
-
The team could model the business processes and associate the appropriate roles to the tasks at hand.
-
The team could document the required information in order to generate Job descriptions directly from the Casewise Repository. Casewise was configured to ensure that the Job Descriptions was aligned to the DPSA Guide on Job Descriptions. The modelled Job Descriptions were published on the Department’s Portal, and as alternative was generated directly to MS Word documents.
Because of all this information that was imported into Casewise repository using the Automodeler, clever reports enabled management to view the following information on the Casewise Evolve portal:
-
Number of Posts per logical grouping
-
Posts per Location or per Branch
-
The cost of the entire structure or individual components
-
The levels of the posts at a specific location
-
Vacant and Filled Posts per Location, or per Branch, or the whole Department
Media & Broadcasting
The team from Casewise South Africa played a fundamental role during the planning, designing and implementation phases of the Enterprise Architecture capability establishment initiative within South Africa's leading video entertainment and Internet Company.
Casewise's extendible meta-model enabled the architecture team to include various architectural frameworks and notations required to accommodate the needs of the business stakeholders.
The team was able to define and implement a comprehensive Business Process Management approach that has standardised the manner in which business requirements are captured, analysed and communicated across the organisation.
